About
Stacey Durkin
Founder of Transformational Psychotherapy
“Healing happens in relationships. It happens when we feel seen, understood, and safe enough to explore the experiences that have shaped us. That belief is at the heart of everything I do.”
Stacey Durkin, MSEd, LPCC (OH), LPC (PA)
Licensed Professional (Clinical) Counselor in Ohio and Pennsylvania

Meet Stacey
For more than 25 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside people as they navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, life transitions, relationship wounds, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences.
While my career began working with children and adolescents, my passion ultimately led me to specialize in helping adults heal from the experiences that continue to influence how they think, feel, connect, and move through the world.
EMDR & Therapeutic Approaches
I am a certified EMDR therapist. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I integrate EMDR with attachment-focused, Parts-work, somatic, and dream work approaches. Although I primarily adhere to the traditional EMDR model—because I believe it is both transformational and remarkably effective as originally developed—some people benefit from the integrative approach I offer, which allows us to slow down the pace and create a greater sense of safety.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, I help clients understand the deeper patterns that developed as adaptive responses to life's challenges. Together, we work to help your nervous system recognize that what was once necessary for survival may no longer be needed today.
Beyond Survival
“Being traumatized means continuing to organize your life as if the trauma were still going on.”
For many clients, healing doesn't end there. Once the past no longer has such a powerful grip, there is room for something more. My hope is not simply that you leave survival mode behind, but that you begin to expand, reach, grow, bloom, and ultimately thrive.
How I Work
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" you—because you are not broken.
Instead, it's about creating the conditions where your brain and body can do what they were designed to do: heal. I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely known, accepted without judgment, and supported as you reconnect with your own resilience, wisdom, and strength.
Who I Work With
In my practice, I work with adults throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania, offering both in-person and virtual therapy, as well as comprehensive EMDR intensives for those seeking a more focused path toward healing.
